How do I buy a ticket on the Stagecoach Bus App?
Buying a ticket on the app is easy:
- Download the Stagecoach Bus App and log in. If you don’t have an account, it’s quick and easy to create.
- Next, go to 'Buy Tickets' and make sure your location is set, then click on the student tab and add your ticket to your basket.
- Make sure you have your ID and payment method ready, and follow the instructions on the screen to make your payment.
- Once you have bought your ticket, enter your details and activate your ticket.
When you’re ready to travel, all you need to do is show your ticket to the driver along with your student ID, and you'll be on your way!
Can I transfer or gift a student ticket I bought on the app?
You can send mobile tickets to other registered Stagecoach Bus App users. It's really simple: Go to 'My Tickets' and find the ticket you want to gift. Tap 'Send to another person' and follow the prompts. Just a heads up, you'll need to include the email address of the person getting the ticket. That email needs to link to a Stagecoach Bus account. Once that's sorted, the ticket will be ready and waiting for them when they next access 'My Tickets'.
How do I activate my mobile student ticket on the app?
Once you’ve bought your ticket and added your student details, you can then activate your ticket, and it's ready to use.
How do I check the start and end dates of a ticket on a Stagecoach mobile student ticket /pass?
Simply log in to the Stagecoach Bus App.
Go to your active ticket, and you’ll see the valid to and from dates for your student ticket.
You need to have connected to WIFI within 8 hours of loading, or have your mobile data turned on to load your ticket.
By clicking on 'More details', you can also find out where you can travel, see any ticket restrictions, and review the terms and conditions of your ticket.
How do I use my student travel card?
You can still use a smart card to store your ticket. Simply tap your student smart card onto the reader when you board the bus. Just remember that you'll be required to show student ID. For paper tickets, show your bus pass along with your student ID to the driver when you board.
Can I buy a student bus pass for the whole year?
In certain areas, you can purchase an annual student bus pass. You just need to search your area to see all the available student bus ticket options. Some tickets will only be valid for the academic year, excluding summer holidays, so please check your ticket details before purchasing.
Can I use my student bus pass in other places?
You can only use your student bus pass in the area that is specified on your ticket's terms and conditions.
Do I need student ID to use my student bus pass?
- You can buy a student ticket on our app without needing a student ID card or ID number
- Once purchased, you will need to add your student details including your name and student ID number (if you have one) before you can activate the ticket for use
- The student name on your ticket must match your student ID
- You will need to carry your student ID when travelling with your student ticket
Do student bus passes work on weekends?
Yes, Stagecoach student bus passes work 7 days a week, perfect to get to your lectures and socialise on the weekends.
