Stagecoach in Darlington | 23 August 2007
Stagecoach Group plc today (22/08/07) confirmed the sale of the Darlington bus business to Arriva plc. As part of the transaction, local bus services in the town will not be affected and 78 Stagecoach staff will be transferred to Arriva North East. John Conroy, Managing Director of Stagecoach North East stated: "Since 1994, Stagecoach has been proud to have provided bus services in the Borough of Darlington and wishes to sincerely thank all of its passengers for their custom over this period. We also wish to express gratitude to our employees for their commitment and hard work during our time in Darlington and wish them every success for the future."
