Stagecoach is one of the largest bus operators in the UK and is playing a leading role in driving passenger growth on public transport across the country.
Stagecoach in East Kent carries over 23 million passengers a year and operates over 13 million miles. Our service is brought to you by 240 buses and 650 dedicated staff.
On some routes, the company is seeing passenger increases of over 10% on the past year.
This growth has been achieved through continued investment, close working partnerships, the introduction of new products and services and through a number of improvements to existing routes. We have invested heavily in low floor easy access buses which feature step-free entrances, room for buggies and wheelchair access. These vehicles are dedicated to specific routes and provide high quality, high frequency services.
As well as improving routes, Stagecoach is committed to providing value for money bus travel offering a range of tickets to suit all our customers including our great value Megarider weekly tickets. Tickets are also available for children and families. Throughout the year, we have run special offer campaigns and sent out discount vouchers to promote our best value tickets to existing and potential new customers.
Training and development is the foundation for delivering the high quality services that Stagecoach in East Kent offers. Nearly 40% of our drivers and over half of mechanical and engineering staff with the company either hold or are working towards an NVQ qualification.
Stagecoach staff work hard at raising money for charity in Kent. With an annual depot open day in Herne Bay, involvement with Kent People’s Trust events plus many other donations, Stagecoach in East Kent has raised thousands of pounds for good causes across the region. We were also pleased to sponsor the Schools Poetry Competition, part of the Canterbury Festival, for the fourth year running in 2007. The winning poems can be seen on our buses across the region.
Stagecoach in East Kent has an open relationship with its customers, always ensuring that avenues are open for passenger comment, feedback on services is encouraged and through this approach, customers can provide comments or suggestions direct to a senior manager within the company. Contact details can be found on this website, on all printed material and on board buses.
