Did you know?...

the average petrol car produces 209.5g CO2 per km, while a bus produces 89.1g of CO2 per km, per passenger.*

We all rely on our cars. But remember, you could reduce your CO2 emissions by switching to the bus. Most of us can’t ditch the car entirely, but by planning ahead and making the switch when we can, we can easily and conveniently reduce our carbon footprint.

Greener travel

We have pledged to plant 123,000 trees in Scotland throughout 2008 which will absorb the CO2 produced by the buses on the network for the next five years.

The trees are being planted in the south of Scotland under a partnership with Global Trees, a Scottish-based charity set up to help people reduce their carbon footprint. This one project will offset 21,500 tonnes of CO2 over the next five years.

Smarter travel

Smart drivers know when to use the car - and when it makes sense to switch to public transport. Our frequent and friendly network between Fife and Edinburgh makes the bus the easy and better choice.

Smarter for you - more than 2,200 services a week operate via Ferrytoll Park and Ride, with departures up to every five minutes. Frequent services also operate from Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Leven, Cupar, St Andrews and Dundee - our hi-tech fleet is equipped with wi-fi technology, offering free email and web access on the move.

Smarter for the environment - we have invested £4.5 million in a fleet of 29 new buses and coaches with some of the greenest engines in Europe.

Our Greener Planet

This tree-planting initiative is one part of Stagecoach Group’s strategy to tackle climate change. We have developed a package of solutions to reduce our carbon footprint - and help you too.
