Timetable changes
7 April 2008

All new timetables will be available to download from this website, from Monday 10th March. The list below given a summary of the changes by service number:

DUNFERMLINE bus stationThe new Queen Anne Street bus station is due to become fully operational from Monday 7th April, and in addition to the specific service changes outlined below, the following services will serve the bus station from this date: 7, 15, 30, 33, 55, 71, 73, 74/74A/74B, 75, 76, 78, 79/79A, 80, 747, D7, D8, X24/X26/X27, X42, X50, X54, X57. 

Service 55 (Dunfermline – Edinburgh)Minor revisions to the timetable will be introduced incorporating adjustments to timings primarily between Dunfermline and Ferrytoll. 

Service 71 (Dunfermline or Kincardine – Crombie – Inverkeithing)Evening peak timetable revised to provide return journeys from Inverkeithing & Ferrytoll to Kincardine, and to better co-ordinate times between Dunfermline and Crombie with service 76. 

Service 73 (Dunfermline – Alloa – Stirling)This new service will operate approximately every 2 hours off-peak from Dunfermline to Stirling via Cairneyhill, Oakley, Blairhall, Alloa, and Cambus. 

Services 74/74A (Dunfermline – Blairhall – Alloa – Stirling)These services will be revised to incorporate the Broomhead Drive, East Baldridge and Parkneuk areas currently served by service D9. In addition certain journeys at peak times will be extended from Blairhall to Stirling via Alloa. Journeys operating via Broomhead Drive will be numbered 74A. 

Service 74B (Dunfermline – Steelend)This evening and Sunday service has been renumbered from service 74A. 

Service 75 (Dunfermline – Steelend - Oakley)The evening and Sunday service has been withdrawn and replaced by revised service 76. 

Service 76 (Dunfermline – Crombie)This service is revised to operate from Crombie to Dunfermline bus station on Monday to Saturday daytime, with an extension to Wellwood during evenings and Sundays. The section of route between Dunfermline city centre and Izatt Avenue is now served by new services 80/80A. 

Service 78 (Dunfermline – High Valleyfield – Falkirk)This service will continue to operate every 15 minutes during most of the day between Dunfermline and High Valleyfield. Once per hour buses will continue to either Falkirk via Culross and Skinflats OR Kincardine via Low Valleyfield, Culross and Westfield. Certain peak journeys to/from Falkirk will also serve Kincardine. Services 79/79A (Dalgety Bay – Dunfermline – Kelty)These services will be re-routed to once again serve the Middlebank Street area of Rosyth. S

ervices 80/80A (Dunfermline – Duloch Park – Dalgety Bay)This new service will generally operate hourly from Dunfermline to Dalgety Bay shops via Izatt Avenue, Birrell Drive, Duloch Park Tesco and Fordell. Within Dalgety Bay Monday to Saturday daytime buses will operate in a loop around Moray Way, whilst evening and Sunday buses (numbered 80A) will serve Moray Way North/South. 

Service 747 (Dunfermline – Ferrytoll – Edinburgh Airport – Riccarton)The AirDirect service will be improved to operate every 20 minutes between Inverkeithing and the Airport on Monday to Saturday daytime, and every 30 minutes on Sunday daytime. Once per hour buses will extend to Riccarton via Gogarburn, Gyle, and Sighthill. Certain peak time journeys will also operate to/from Dunfermline bus station.

Services D3/D4 (City Centre – Pitcorthie – Duloch Park)These services will be revised to additionally serve Masterton Road, Lapwing Drive, Aberdour Road, Tesco Duloch Park, and Linburn Road Health Centre. More low-floor easy access buses will also be used on these routes. 

Service D5/D6 (City Centre – Garvock Bank/Abbeyview)A revised timetable will be introduced on these services incorporating a combined frequency of every 10 minutes during much of the day. 

Service D7 (Townhill – City Centre – Duloch Park – Fife Leisure Park/North Queensferry)With the exception of a few early morning journeys, the journeys currently operating to/from Dalgety Bay will now generally operate via Sandpiper Drive to Fife Leisure Park providing an improved frequency on this section of the route. Therefore during the main part of the day Buses will operate every 15 minutes from Townhill to Duloch Park Tesco, and then every 30 minutes to either North Queensferry or Fife Leisure Park. The Duloch Park – Dalgety Bay section will now be served by new services 80/80A. 

Service D9 (Izatt Avenue/Birrell Drive – City Centre – Parkneuk)This service will be withdrawn and replaced by revised services 74/74A/74B and 80/80A operating to similar frequencies for much of the day. 

Service X24 (St.Andrews – Glenrothes – Dunfermline – Glasgow)The 0730 Glenrothes to Dunfermline journey will be withdrawn on Monday to Friday. Minor timetable alterations will be made to some peak time journeys to/from Glasgow to improve reliability. 

Services X26/X27 (St.Andrews – Kirkcaldy – Dunfermline – Glasgow)The 0630 X26 journey from Leven to St.Andrews will operate 10 minutes earlier on Monday to Friday. The 0710 X26 journey from St.Andrews to Glasgow will operate 5 minutes earlier as far as Dunfermline. A new X27 journey will be introduced from Leven at 0715 via Kirkcaldy bus station at 0745 operating to Dunfermline bus station for 0820. Minor timetable alterations will also be made to some peak time journeys to/from Glasgow to improve reliability. 

Service X40 (Dunfermline – Inverkeithing – Riccarton)This service is unfortunately withdrawn. However improved service 747 will provide a replacement facility for much of this route. 

Service X42 (Dunfermline – Glenrothes – Cupar – Dundee)The morning journey will now commence from Dunfermline bus station at 0630. Service X50 (Dunfermline/Dalgety Bay – Leith)Unfortunately due to poor passenger numbers the off-peak service is withdrawn. There is no change to the peak-time journeys. 

Service X54 (Dundee – Glenrothes – Dunfermline – Edinburgh)The 0810 journey from Dundee to Glenrothes will now continue to Dunfermline. 

Service X57 (Lochgelly - Cowdenbeath - Dunfermline - Edinburgh) Minor timetables changes to accommodate this service now using the new bus station in Dunfermline.

Service X59 (St.Andrews – Glenrothes – Edinburgh)Additional stopping points will be introduced at Cupar East Road at Thomastoun Drive, and Halbeath Kingdom Services. There will be no change to the timetable. 

Service X61 (Glenrothes/Kirkcaldy – Edinburgh)This peak time service will be revised to provide one journey in each direction between Kirkcaldy bus station and Edinburgh via Hendry Road, Dunnikier Estate, Robert Adam Drive, Chapel Level and Ferrytoll AND one journey in each direction between Glenrothes bus station and Edinburgh via the existing route but including Robert Adam Drive.
