Festive Bus Services 2011

Between Saturday 24 December 2011 and Monday
2 January 2012, buses will run to Festive timetables.

Whether travelling to work, shopping for Christmas presents, bargains in the sales or making your way home after celebrating the New Year, you may need to check details of your journeys before travelling. A summary of the service levels is listed below.

Christmas 2009

Monday to Friday Holiday Service


On 28, 29 and 30 December 2011, Monday to Friday holiday timetables will operate. This means that normal timetables will apply apart from some peak period journeys will be speeded up (similar to the Summer Holiday timetables) to reflect road conditions on these days.


24 and 31 December 2011 - Last bus


On the above dates our normal services finish between 1900 and 2000 hrs.

25 December 2011 - 43 Special Airport Service


The 43 will operate as follows:
Leaving Piccadilly at 0805 and every hour to 1905 to Airport
Leaving Manchester Airport at 0910 and every hour to 2010 to Piccadilly

26 December 2011 - Boxing Day


Special timetables will operate on main routes
22,  23,  23A,  42,  43,  50,  85,  86,  101,  192,  201,  203,  216,  219,  250,  255, 256  and  X50.

Sunday services will run with extra journeys on the following services:

31 December 2011 - New Year's Eve


New Year’s Eve late night services will operate on the following key routes similar to last year, running between 1900 and 0400 hrs.
43,  86,  142,  143,  192,  201,  203,  216,  219  and  256.

The Trafford Centre


The Trafford Centre is open until 2300 hrs on the following dates:
5 to 9 December, 12 to 16 December, 19 to 23 December 2011.

On these dates we will operate additional journeys on the 250, leaving The Trafford Centre at 2318 and 2348 and the X50, leaving The Trafford Centre at 2310.

Also on the 2 January 2012, extra journeys will operate as follows:
250 Leaving The Trafford Centre at: 2008, 2038
X50 Leaving Manchester Piccadilly 0916, 0931
X50 Leaving The Trafford Centre at 1910, 1940, 2010, 2040

Special fares over the festive period

Special fares will apply after 2000 hrs on 31 December, at all other times normal adult single fares will be charged. Purchasing and validity restrictions apply to certain tickets on
25, 26, 31 December 2011 and 1 January 2012 (see table below).

After 2000 hrs on New Year’s Eve, no adult single fares will be available, the only adult ticket you can purchase from the driver will be the £4 New Year Dayrider ticket, valid on all Stagecoach services until 0400 hrs on New Year's Day.
