Stagecoach Manchester is pleased and relieved to confirm that following a workplace ballot, its drivers have voted in favour of a new pay deal and there will be no industrial action. The new deal follows meetings with the union, company management and the ACAS conciliation service last Friday.
Stagecoach Manchester managing director Mark Threapleton said: "I am really pleased we have been able to conclude a deal which meets the aspirations of our drivers and the company and means there will be no disruption to our passengers in the busy run up to Christmas".
All strikes notified by the union have now been called off and buses will continue to run as normal across Manchester. Mark added: "Involving ACAS in the talks last Friday helped a lot in securing this two year pay deal, which has enabled us to pay more to the drivers this year and balance it against next year, in a way that the company can manage within its future financial projections".
