Rebecca Waddington, a student at Northumbria University got more than she bargained for when she was looking to buy a bus ticket.
She entered the Stagecoach Unirider competition and won a pair of VIP tickets to the Kaiser Chiefs concert at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle.
Rebecca, 24, entered the competition online when she was investigating cheaper ways to travel to and from University. She uses the bus everyday to get to and from the Coach Lane campus where she is completing her PGCE to become a primary school teacher.
She says: "I have always used buses to get around the city centre and especially to and from classes, as they are convenient, good value and better for the environment. I was comparing the cost of a Stagecoach Unirider after seeing it advertised as a cheaper alternative for students and came across the competition.
"I didn’t think for one minute that I would win, but as well as my new Unirider I’ve got tickets for two to the Kaiser Chiefs concert. I can’t wait to see them live and the VIP passes will make it a really special night."
John Conroy, Managing Director of Stagecoach North East gave Rebecca her prize and said: "I was delighted to present Rebecca with the tickets and hope she has a great time at the concert. We hoped this promotion along with the many other incentives we offer students, would encourage students across the north east to take advantage of the Unirider ticket, as it is such an economical and ‘greener’ way to travel around the city."
Uniriders offer students unlimited travel across the region and are priced at ?199 for the full year or ?84 per term. Tickets can be bought online from our secure website.
