Richard has joined our team after serving his first year of his graduate management in Cowdenbeath depot in Fife.
Originally from Bradford, 23 year old Richard gained his degree in Law, Economics and Environmental Studies at Cambridge before enrolling on the Stagecoach Graduate Management Training Scheme.
On his new role Richard said: "For me, management is all about understanding the grass roots and the core of the business and Stagecoach really seemed to be on the same wavelength. Through learning to drive a bus, I now have a real appreciation of what makes this business so successful, as without our bus drivers there would be no business."
He added: "I'm really looking forward to working at Slatyford, as it is a depot with an outstanding reputation and the people in the North East have been so welcoming."
Nigel Winter, Operations Director for Stagecoach North East adds: "Richard will make a welcome addition to the management team at Slatyford. He will support the Operations Manager in managing the staff, handling customer relations and ensuring that our services operate to the highest possible standard. It is hugely beneficial for us to have Richard's input as he has a fresh, new perspective and will help us to further enhance our service offering within Newcastle."
Richard will complete his second and final year of training at Slatyford before being appointed in a permanent role in another Stagecoach depot as a full time Operations Manager.
Richard replaces Colm Lynch, who has been appointed Operations Manager for Stagecoach Manchester.
