Stagecoach North East regrettably announces a fares revision to customer tickets in Newcastle. These changes are effective from Sunday 20 April 2008. These ticket price rises are necessary to cover substantial rises in fuel, insurance and labour costs.
Customers are advised that fares will be revised as follows:
Adult single fares below 85p will be increased by 5p
Adult single fares above 85p will be increased by 10p
Adult single fares above £2 are unchanged
Adult single fares on QuayLink will be increased by 10p
Adult Transfares will be increased by 20p
Child Commercial (off-peak) single and Transfares will be increased by 5p
4-week Budget Card will be increased to £13.80
4-week Budget Card Plus will be increased to £17.70
QuayLink Hourrider ticket will be increased to £1.20
QuayLink Quayrider ticket will be increased to £1.60
However, the price of all Megariders, Dayriders and VIP tickets will remain unchanged.
John Conroy, Managing Director of Stagecoach North East said: “While we regret having to make these fare increases, our prices overall remain very good value. For regular customers, the prices of our popular Megarider Dayrider and VIP tickets will remain unchanged.
“Stagecoach provides a clear and simple bus network in the North East that is frequent and fast to aid travellers. We recognise that buses are a crucial part of the community, helping people access work, education, healthcare, shopping and leisure opportunities. Which is why Stagecoach invests heavily in new buses and resources to constantly improve our services."
