Pink Parade in Newcastle City Centre on Saturday 12 July 2008 | 8 July 2008
We have been advised that there will be a Pink Parade in Newcastle City Centre on Saturday 12 July 2008. The procession will start from Civic Centre at 1200, and head via Ceremonial Way, St. Marys Place, Northumberland Street, Blackett Street, Percy Street and Leazes Park Road, arriving Leazes Park at around 1245 (approx). To ensure health and safety in maintained, Police and Traffic Wardens will temporarily close roads along the line of the procession with a rolling road block. As a consequence, most buses across the city centre will be subject to a delay. Stagecoach apologise for any inconvenience these delays may cause, which is due to circumstances beyond our control.

Construction of the Bamboo Bridge on Newcastle Quayside – Friday 18 July 2008 (and maybe Saturday 19 July 2008) | 7 July 2008
Due to the ongoing construction of the “Bamboo Bridge” on Newcastle’s Quayside, it will be necessary to close the road along Quayside between its junctions with Sandgate and the Guildhall, between 9pm and midnight on Friday 18 July. In the event of poor weather on the 18 July, the “Bamboo Bridge” celebration (and consequent road closure) will instead occur on Saturday 19 July. To ensure health and safety in maintained, during any affected times, Service Q2 buses will be required to divert away from the bus stops in the Dean Street and Quayside areas. Service Q2 buses towards St.Peters Basin will therefore operate via Grey Street, Mosley Street, Melbourne Street, Pandon Bank, City Road, Sandgate and East Quayside. Service Q2 buses towards the City Centre will divert from the Quayside Bus Link via Swirle, East Quayside (Sandgate), City Road, Pilgrim Street and Market Street East (stopping opposite the Police Station). As a consequence of these diversions, Service Q2 buses will be subject to delay. Stagecoach apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, which is due to circumstances beyond our control. Service Q1 buses will be unaffected.

Demolition of Newcastle Breweries site – Sunday 20 July 2008 (and possibly Sunday 27 July 2008) | 1 July 2008
We have been advised that due to the ongoing demolition of the former Newcastle Breweries site, it will be necessary to close Barrack Road on Sunday 20 July 2008. To ensure health and safety in maintained, a section of Barrack Road will be temporarily close, and buses will need to divert via St.James Boulevard, Wellington Road and Pitt Street. Westbound Service 39/40 will not serve the bus stop on Barrack Road opposite the football ground, and City Sightseeing Red Route will be required to divert northbound via Percy Street and Leazes Park Road (omitting Gallowgate and Strawberry Place). As a consequence, most buses will be subject to a slight delay. Stagecoach apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, which is due to circumstances beyond our control.
