Say goodbye to expensive tickets, and bid farewell to asking your parents for a lift - the new Very Independent Person ticket from Stagecoach will be making a hot debut on Saturday 20 October 2007. And it’s what we’ve all been waiting for! Available exclusively to anyone in fulltime education and under the age of 19 years (ages 5 - 18 years inclusive), our VIP pass means you can hop on any Stagecoach bus anywhere in Tyne and Wear as many times as you like – from as little as £1 a day!

Are you VIP material?

This offer isn’t just for everybody, you know – it’s all very exclusive – and you’ll have to prove you’re a VIP when you buy your ticket or get on the bus. But we’re sure you already have what it takes – any of the following forms of identification will do just fine:

• Nexus Under 16 card
• Teen Travel Card
• Current College ID card

If you haven’t got an ID card, you won’t have to go far to pick one up. Your local Nexus Travelshop will do just fine.

• Central Station Metro station
• Gateshead Interchange
• Haymarket Metro station
• Heworth Interchange
• Four Lane Ends Interchange
• MetroCentre
• Monument Metro station
• North Shields Metro station
• Park Lane Interchange
• South Shields 34-36 Fowler Street

Passport photos and a small fee may be required, but remember - no ID, no VIP treatment. And it just wouldn’t do to travel like everybody else, would it?

Great! So how do I go about getting a VIP pass?

Nice and simple! 1-day and 7-day VIP passes can be bought from your Stagecoach driver when you get on the bus.

1-day VIP passes cost £2, 7-day VIP passes cost £7, and the 28-day VIP passes cost £28.

...Just don’t forget to be flash - and show that you’ve got what it takes - by showing your ID card when you purchase your VIP pass, and everytime you use it!

All you need to do on this great site is type in where you’re leaving from and where you want to get to and it’ll work out the rest!  Even giving you a map of your route!  There are loads of other useful tools and tips on here as well to make travelling about much easier.
• If you’d prefer to talk with someone about planning your journey, you can call Traveline on 0871 200 22 33*.
• You can also use the text service on 84268, which will send you the times and numbers of departing buses from your nearest stop.  We suggest you check out Traveline first to see how it works.

Just remember, the U19 VIP ticket is only valid on Stagecoach buses, so make sure you can use our services to get to where you want to - You can always buy a day version to test it out first!

The new all-day VIP tickets replace the old 929 ticket (which only offered travel to under 16s between 9am and 9pm).
