Stagecoach is one of the largest bus operators in the UK and is playing a leading role in driving passenger growth on public transport across the country.
Stagecoach East carries over 10 million passengers and operates over 7 million miles each year in Northamptonshire, with up to 450 employees and a fleet of 180.
The company has achieved a passenger increase of 8% over the last 12 months.
This growth has been achieved through continued investment, close working partnerships with the County Council and the introduction of new products and services. Stagecoach East has successfully run leading edge awarding winning marketing campaigns and is committed to on-going training, development, and first class customer relations.
The largest increase has been in Corby where we introduced the Corby Star network in partnership with the local authority, we have seen over 90% passenger increase over the last 12 months.
Investment in new buses for cross county services, operating between Peterborough and Milton Keynes, through Corby Kettering and Northampton, have also shown a considerable passenger increase. Again, this is in partnership with the local authority.
Stagecoach is committed to providing value for money bus travel offering a range of tickets to suit all our customers including our multi-million selling adult Megarider ticket, specific to town, through to our County-wide Gold Rider.
Training and development is our foundation for delivering the high quality services that Stagecoach East offers. Nearly half of our drivers with the company either hold or are working towards an NVQ qualification, which is one of the best record of any operator in the country. Stagecoach East has an open relationship with its customers, always ensuring that avenues are open for customer comment, feedback on services is encouraged and through this approach, customers can provide comments or suggestions direct to a senior manager within the company. We operate a level of customer service that ensures that all customers receive a reply within seven working days, often though this timescale is much less.
All our new staff are subject to Criminal Record Bureau checks and this shows our commitment to our customers safety whilst travelling on our services.
