Stagecoach are to relaunch bus routes in the Oundle area under the Nene Valley Traveller brand.
From 03 September Stagecoach will enhance it’s routes between Peterborough, Oundle and Thrapston. The changes incorporate customer comments and will see facilities increased for many of the rural communities in the area.
Philip Norwell, Commercial Director, said "We have reviewed the one day a week village routes taken over in April and are pleased to be able to offer significant improvements to many areas. Whilst nationally many complain of cuts in rural bus services, we are looking to do the opposite with support of the county council and local community".
In addition to offering facilities into both Oundle and Peterborough the new routes promote travel from the city for walkers and those who enjoy spending time wandering through leafy lanes amid thatched cottages and village greens. The new leaflet ‘Nene Valley Traveller’ shows marked footpaths and maps in addition to bus times.
From the same date Stagecoach makes changes to Cross County X4 affecting buses towards Peterborough from Oundle.
Cross County X4 and Nene Valley Traveller X14 combined offer a bus every 30 minutes throughout the daytime on Monday to Saturdays between this thriving market town and Peterborough city centre.
X14 Peterborough – Oundle hourly
extending to Southwick (3 per day)
13 Peterborough – Kings Cliffe – Oundle, 3 journeys each way.
15 Peterborough – Lutton – Oundle, shopping facilities into both centres Monday to Saturday.
