Local bus operator Stagecoach has invested a further £0.5m in new buses to enhance it’s award winning ‘citi’ network in Peterborough.
The changes which start on 24 August will see the company double the number of buses to Stanground and Park Farm, the revised citi 3 will now run every 10 minutes along Fletton Avenue.
Routes citi 4 and citi 5 are re-routed in Dogsthorpe and citi 6 will serve more of Hampton as part of the re-shuffle. Brand new route citi 7 is launched running every 20 minutes from Yaxley, Farcet and Fletton into the city and on to Parnwell and Eye.
Philip Norwell, Commercial Director for Stagecoach in Cambridgeshire said, “ The citi network has seen a 40% increase in passenger trips since it’s launch in 2004. With fuel costs soaring more and more people are finding the bus a convenient alternative for many of their journeys. At only £10 for seven days unlimited travel with our Megarider ticket why wouldn’t you consider using the bus. Faster journey times and wider coverage can only make that decision easier.”
From the same date certain rural routes are renumbered, this includes buses to Whittlesey, which will run every 15 minutes showing number 31/32/33.
