New early morning buses for Supertram link

Additional journeys to help early morning workers using the Bus Link between the Stocksbridge and Deepcar area and the Supertram terminus at Middlewood are to be introduced by Stagecoach Sheffield from 21 July.

On Mondays to Fridays buses will be leaving Carr Road, Deepcar, at 6.28 am and 6.48am. There will also be changes to Saturday early morning journey times to coincide with tram departures.

Other improvements in Sheffield include the introduction of an additional journey on the number 29 Sheffield – Penistone service, departing Penistone at 18.20 from Mondays to Saturdays.

The changes are two of many based on passenger feedback and designed to boost efficiency and performance across Stagecoach Yorkshire’s network. They are part of the leading bus operator’s programme of continuous improvement, which assesses all services at regular intervals.

Stagecoach Yorkshire’s managing director Paul Lynch said: The process whereby we review services is ongoing and an important part of it is listening to what our customers tell us and also how services are used.

It means we are able to make adjustments to timings and routes in line with passenger demand. A good example of meeting the requirements of our customers was on the 265 Barnsley to Sheffield service where extra buses at peak times have proved to be a big success.
