Roadworks in Hill View Estate, Grangetown - disruption to Service 10 on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 October 2008 | 30 September 2008
Sunderland City Council have advised that there will be roadworks in Hill View Estate, Grangetown. Because of these works, Service 10 buses will not be able to gain access to Hillsview Road, Hereford Road or Westheath Avenue. These works will require Service 10 to operate as follows: Westbound from Queen Alexandra Hotel via Woodstock Avenue, then left into Leechmere Road, u-turn at Ryhope Road roundabout, Leechmere Road, Helvellyn Road, Sea View Road West. Eastbound via Sea View Road West, Helvellyn Road, Leechmere Road, to rejoin route at Ryhope Roundabout. Buses will observe all stops along the line of the diversionary route. Stagecoach apologise for any inconvenience this temporary change may cause, which is due to circumstances beyond our control.
Closure of Beaumont Street, Southwick from Tuesday 9 September 2008 for around 6 weeks | 22 August 2008
We have been advised that Beaumont Street in Southwick will be closed from Tuesday 9 September for around 6 weeks for the installation of a new sewer system. As a result, it will not be possible for Services 4 and 16 to operate via their normal routes along Faber Road and Beaumont Street. They will instead need to divert in both directions between Beechwood Crescent and Southwick Green via Old Mill Road, Fern Avenue and Sunderland Road (observing all bus stops along the line of this diversion route). Because of the diversionary route, it is possible that Services 4 and 16 will be subject to a slight delay. Stagecoach apologise for any inconvenience these temporary changes may cause, which is due to circumstances beyond our control.
Changes to Services 8 and 20 from Sunday 10 August 2008 | 10 July 2008
Regrettably, evening and Sunday journeys on Service 8 will be withdrawn after operation on Saturday 9 August 2008.This change to Service 8 is being made due to the very low number of customers which are using this route during these times. Sadly, these journeys have reached an unsustainable level, and cannot continue.
However, Service 8 will continue to run during Monday to Saturday daytimes, until approx 6pm. Partial alternative facilities during evening and Sunday times are provided by the Tyne and Wear Metro trains from South Hylton to Sunderland City Centre. Revised Service 20 (which will divert via Helmsdale Road every 30 minutes during evening and Sunday times) will provide alternative links from Hylton Road and Helmsdale Road to Sunderland City Centre.
