Stagecoach Supertram is committed to offering a safe and pleasant environment for its users and staff as well as people living along the route. Our vision is to provide the safest public transport system available.
We work closely with various community groups around the City, such as the Police Community Support Officers, City Centre Ambassadors, Netherthorpe and Upperthorpe Community Wardens and the Norfolk Park Street Rangers. Employees of these groups are encouraged to use the trams on a regular basis where they liase with both staff and customers.
Supertram staff are also encouraged to keep an eye out whilst working on the system, for things out of the ordinary, anything unusual is then passed on to the police by our control room staff.
We also work very closely with schools and colleges served by the tram to ensure that the journey home is safe for the children/students attending these facilities and trouble free for passengers already on board our trams. This is run in conjunction with the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, who operate the SAFEMARK scheme that aims to increase safety and offer a friendlier environment to travel in for all public transport users.
Stagecoach Supertram regularly sponsors local events around the area, which includes the Mayfest, held at Hillsborough Park and the After Dark fireworks extravaganza, held at the Don Valley Bowl, adjacent to the Hallam FM Arena and Ice Sheffield.
We currently employ approximately 250 people at Supertram ranging from driving and conducting to engineering and cleaning staff. These are local jobs for local people, if you would like to join our team click here.
