Fares revision
31 October 2008

Stagecoach North East regrettably announces a fares revision to customer tickets on Teesside. These changes are effective from Sunday 9 November 2008.

These ticket price rises are necessary to cover rising fuel, insurance and labour costs.

Stagecoach customers should be aware that fares will be revised as follows:

1-week Teesside Megarider will be £10.00
1-week Megarider Plus will be £12.80
1-week Child Coolrider will be £6.90
1-day Child Teesside Tripper will be £2.60
1-day Family Teesside Tripper will be £8.00

However, the price of the 1-day Adult Teesside Tripper remains unchanged
- it’s still great value at only £3.95.

…And the prices of all adult single fares continue unchanged too.

John Conroy, Managing Director of Stagecoach North East said: “While we regret having to make these fare increases - which are the first revisions since April 2007 for these tickets - our prices do overall remain very good value.

“However, these price changes are necessary to assist bus service sustainability, and help in the development of the local bus service network. We're proud of the fact that we provide a clear and simple bus network in the North East that is frequent and fast to aid travellers. We recognise that buses are a crucial part of the community, helping people access work, education, healthcare, shopping and leisure opportunities. Which is why Stagecoach invests heavily in new buses and resources to constantly improve our services."
