Stagecoach unveils revised network for Huddersfield
11 January 2008

Leading bus operator Stagecoach Yorkshire has today unveiled a series of improvements across its Huddersfield network.

The company has revamped timetables for services 80, 81, 82, 83, 83A, 84 and 262 to improve reliability and punctuality.

The improved network, which is being introduced on Saturday 26 January 2008, will provide passengers with more peak time journeys, earlier morning services and later departure times.

Paul Lynch, managing director of Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: The changes reflect our commitment to deliver a reliable, clean and affordable service by simplifying bus routes, refining timetables and continuing to improve vehicle presentation and quality.

The changes have been agreed in conjunction with local councillors and the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive – Metro, following extensive discussions with customers and staff.

Mr Lynch added: We are always keen to hear feedback from our customers and take on board their views. Following public meetings we carried out extensive company monitoring in this area of West Yorkshire. This involved conducting surveys to establish actual running times taking into account today’s traffic conditions. This has enabled us to construct a robust timetable based on the current number of journeys.

Passengers should find a huge improvement in our services, but we will endeavour to make these even better over time.
