Coronavirus Update Close

National lockdown restrictions are in place across England. Until 2 December, you should only travel for work, education or other permitted reasons. From 2 December England will be returning to a 3 Tier System. Find out more about local restrictions.

A tiered system of protection levels is in operation across Scotland. So, if you need to travel, make sure you're up-to-date with what's happening in your area by checking the local government guidance.

We've put in place measures to allow you to travel safely including limiting available seats on buses and enhanced cleaning. Unless you’re exempt, you must wear a face covering throughout your journey. Please avoid busy times, use contactless payment where you can, keep your distance and take your litter with you. Q. I live in England but work in Scotland/Wales, can I travel across the border by bus?

A. The Scottish and Welsh Governments have advised that people should avoid any unnecessary travel across borders. If you need to travel, most of our services are running normally but if you know your service crosses a border, check the service updates in your area to make sure there hasn’t been a change.

Q. Are there any extra measures I should take when travelling?

A. We’ve worked hard over the past few months to create a safe environment on our buses, including enhanced cleaning and limiting capacity. We’d ask that you do your part and wear a face covering, if you can, keep apart and use hand sanitiser regularly.

Q. Are your timetables changing again after the latest government advice?

A. We're not expecting to make changes to the majority of our services, but if we do, we'll let you know and you can use our website and app to stay up to date. Please stay at home, unless travelling for one of the reasons detailed by the Government. If you need to travel, plan your journey and travel at a quieter time.

Q. I have a Stagecoach ticket that I won’t be able to use during these restrictions, can I get a refund?

A. Our normal refund policy applies. If you'd like to talk with us about a refund about any of our tickets, please use our refund request form.

Q. Are you still accepting cash or can I only use contactless payments?

A. We’re encouraging everyone who can to pay by contactless but you can still pay with cash. If you need to pay by cash it would helpful for everyone if you had the exact change for your fare. We’ve got lots of options to let you buy your ticket in advance either on our website or through the Stagecoach Bus App.

Q. The schools are still open, are you continuing to run school services?

A. Our services are running normally but you should regularly check for updates in your local area.
