Coronavirus Update Close

We all need to do whatever we can to protect each other from Coronavirus, so in line with the latest government guidance, there are measures in place to help you to travel with confidence, including limiting available seats on buses and enhanced cleaning. Unless you’re exempt, you must wear a face covering when using public transport, throughout your journey. Please avoid busy times, use contactless payment where you can and take your litter with you. For up to date information see our Coronavirus page.

There are temporary timetables in Wales between 25 October and 9 November due to a two-week Welsh Government lockdown.

Stagecoach East Midlands launch Lincoln late night bus services

25 Jul 2018

Services 7 & 8 will operate up until 11.30pm on Friday & Saturdays

Stagecoach East Midlands has today, 24 July, announced that it will be introducing a late evening bus service on the Simplibus Services 7 and 8 between Lincoln Transport Hub, the Cathedral Quarter and Ermine Estates from Friday 27 July.

Buses will run every 30 minutes from teatime until 11.30pm on Friday and Saturday evenings, providing customers with more travel opportunities for nights out, working late or visiting friends. The extra journeys will provide a direct route between the city centre and the popular Bailgate area avoiding the climb up Steep Hill.

Customers can use their Megariders or Dayriders on the evening services; tickets can be purchased using cash or through contactless payments on Apple or Google pay.

The announcement follows on from other late night services already operating across the city; including services 6 and 9 to Boultham – Hartsholme – Birchwood - Doddington Park operating every 30 minutes until 11.30pm and service  15 to Newark Road - North Hykeham every hour until 11.30pm.

Matt Cranwell, Managing Director, Stagecoach East Midlands said: “Our extra Friday and Saturday evening bus services in Lincoln demonstrate our commitment to providing customers with frequent, affordable and reliable transport options.

We are delighted to be able to trial these late journeys, which will enable local people to enjoy the nightlife that Lincoln has to offer without the stress of having to drive and park.”
