Grimsby bus depot shortlisted for national award

The Stagecoach East Midlands bus depot in Grimsby has been shortlisted for a national UK bus award.

Since 1995, the UK Bus Awards have celebrated and rewarded excellence, quality and achievement in the bus industry. This year, the Stagecoach East Midlands depot in Grimsby has been recognised as one of the country’s top bus terminals.

The depot in Grimsby has been recognised for its dedicated and friendly operational team, excellent customer care and its commitment to delivering top quality bus services in the local area. The depot has also been noted for its special efforts to gather passenger feedback, its focus on staff health and wellbeing and good environmental practice.

The Grimsby depot, on Victoria Street, has been shortlisted in the ‘Operating Awards’ division of ‘Top National Bus Depot’. Some 180 staff work there, including drivers, engineers and maintenance staff. The depot is the base for around 70 buses for local services including Simplibus and Humber Flyer

Matt Cranwell, Managing Director of Stagecoach East Midlands, said: “Congratulations to everyone at the Grimsby depot. They are a brilliant team. A great depot is essential to ensure smooth-running local services and that’s what they provide, day in, day out.”

The winners of the UK Bus Awards will be announced on Tuesday November 20 at a ceremony in London.
