Stagecoach East Midlands announced today that it will be providing extra bus services for the Lincoln Christmas Market, running from Thursday 5 December to Sunday 8 December.
The additional services will provide more travel options for people visiting the festive market in Lincoln.
Passengers can use Service 7 and 8 for easy access to the market that will depart every 10 minutes on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from Stand D at Lincoln Bus Station and every 15 minutes on the Sunday. Passengers can alight at Pottergate near the Cathedral, only a short walk from the Christmas Market.
Those travelling back into the City Centre can catch the Service 7 and 8 from the temporary bus stop adjacent to the Cathedral on Pottergate. Buses will run up to every 10 minutes all day on Thursday, Friday and Saturday with the last bus back at midnight. On Sunday buses will run every 15 minutes with the last bus back at 1800.

We want people to enjoy the fun without the worry and hassle of having to drive and park in the city centre.
“We hope these extra services will provide convenient travel for those visiting the markets and will help to ease congestion on the roads during this busy period.”
Passengers travelling on the services on Thursday 5 December or on Friday 6 December for the late night shopping day, will be able to purchase the exclusive £1 flat fare for a single journey, which is available after 6pm.
Adult fares for the Saturday and Sunday market services start at £1.50 for a single or £2.70 for a return. Children can ride the bus for only 75p or £1.35 for a return while two people travelling together can take advantage of the Duo Return ticket for £4.05. Concessionary passes are also valid.
Customers with a Lincoln dayrider, Lincoln family dayrider, Lincoln Megarider, East Midlands day out ticket or a plus bus ticket can also enjoy travel on these services.
Stagecoach Day Out Tickets from Skegness, Scunthorpe, Grantham, Gainsborough and Grimsby are also valid on buses to the markets. An adult Day Out ticket is £9.30, £19 for a family of 5 (max two adults) and £4.65 for a child.
For those with a Plus Bus ticket travelling to Lincoln by train then this ticket is also valid on these services, with the Rail Station being conveniently located opposite the Bus Station.
Those travelling by car can book parking at the Lincolnshire Showground and take advantage of the free buses running from the Showground to the Christmas market.
