Stagecoach Strathtay are introducing an improved timetable for the 57 bus route on 4th May.
Service 57 operates between Perth and Dundee, via Coupar Angus, Blairgowrie and Alyth providing a regular bus service for the region.
Between Perth and Blairgowrie the route currently runs every 30 minutes on Mondays to Fridays, hourly on Saturdays and every 2 hours on Sundays. From the 4th May the Saturday service will be increased to every 30 minutes, providing more journey opportunities for the community.
The frequency of service between Blairgowrie and Dundee will remain the same as hourly Mondays to Saturdays and every 2 hours on Sundays.
Andrew Jarvis, Managing Director, Stagecoach East Scotland said: "The 57 route links so many communities in Perth and Kinross and Angus and it continues to be a popular travel choice.
"The higher demand for travel between Blairgowrie and Perth has caused us to increase the frequency on Saturdays and we hope this will help those travelling for work, shopping or for social activities at the weekend, as well as help to bring more visitors to Blairgowrie during the summer months."
Jessie Shaw, Manager of the One Voice Community Office also said: "We're delighted that Stagecoach recognises the need and has taken action to improve the access to public transport in the rural areas."
