Stagecoach Manchester drove away from the 2015 UK Bus Awards with the Silver Award, after finishing as a runner up in the Top City Operator of the Year category.
The leading local bus operator impressed judges with its consistent track record of excellent customer service, investment in new buses, innovative marketing, passenger growth and industry-leading financial performance.
Stagecoach Manchester represented the Greater Manchester region at the awards, being shortlisted alongside Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company, Go North East and National Express West Midlands.
The award comes after Stagecoach Manchester has invested more than ever before on services and facilities for its customers in the past year. This includes a multimillion pound expenditure on new buses for the region as well as the development of the Hazel Grove Park and Ride facility.
Christopher Bowles, managing director of Stagecoach Manchester, said: “To win the Silver Award in the Top City Bus Operator of the Year is a real testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole team. Each and every staff member goes to great lengths to ensure we deliver a high-quality service for our customers day in, day out.
“This has been a milestone year for us and I would like to thank the whole team for going above and beyond what is expected and making Stagecoach Manchester the very best it can be. I am extremely proud that we have been recognised for our ongoing commitment to improving services for our customers.”
