Stagecoach Santas Hope to Collect Sleigh-loads for Charity

19 Dec 2016

Dozens of Stagecoach Manchester drivers are getting into the festive spirit this December by dressing up as Santa Claus to raise money for charity.

Drivers from the Stockport, Ashton, Sharston, Middleton,Hyde Road and Wigan  depots will collect donations for Stagecoach Manchester’s charity of the year, Prevent Breast Cancer, by wearing Santa Claus outfits while operating their services in the run up to Christmas.

Money raised from the fundraising will go directly to support Prevent Breast cancer, which undertakes ground-breaking research into the prediction and prevention of breast cancer, a disease which over 50,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with each year.

Stagecoach Manchester managing director Elisabeth Tasker, said: “Our drivers are more than happy to help spread festive cheer, while our passengers always give generously and the younger children in particular enjoy seeing Santa driving their bus!

“Hopefully we will help to put a smile on people’s faces in the run up to Christmas and we’d like to thank passengers for their generosity when we collect for charity, not just in December, but throughout the year.”
