Stagecoach Manchester has announced it will be launching a new 147 bus service from Monday 3rd September.
The service will run from Manchester Piccadilly train station down Oxford Road past the universities and hospitals to West Didsbury.
The new 147 service, which operates Monday to Friday, starts at 5:31am from Manchester Piccadilly Station to provide improved travel links for customers and operates every 15 minutes until 6:46am, when the frequency increases to every ten minutes. The last departure from West Didsbury will be at 8:04pm, with the last journey past the universities and hospitals to Piccadilly Rail Station at 8.21pm.
The service will operate as a Magic bus meaning existing customers with Stagecoach and Magic bus tickets travelling on the route have access to an additional service.
Fares on the Magic bus start from as little as £1.50 for a single ticket while a Magic dayrider is £4.00 or a magicrider 7 day is £9.00.
Stagecoach Manchester managing director, Elisabeth Tasker, said: “Our new 147 service will provide extra benefits to university students and staff and passengers travelling to and from Manchester’s hospitals including staff, outpatients and visitors. Both earlier start times from Piccadilly Rail Station and a more regular Monday to Friday service will be available and the addition of this new service to our popular Magic bus services will also provide added value for our customers.”
