Changes to the Manchester 7 Day MegaRider ticket

From 3rd December 2023 the option to purchase Manchester 7 Day Megarider tickets using contactless payments on-board our buses in Greater Manchester will no longer be available.  However, cash payments will still be accepted, and this ticket can also be purchased on the Stagecoach Bus App, or online at Stagecoachbus.com. 

 

Contactless and card payments will continue to be accepted for other ticket types. 

 

This change is driven by concerns related to fraudulent activities associated with on-board payments for this specific ticket. 

 

Rob Jones, Managing Director at Stagecoach Manchester, expressed his disappointment, stating: “While it's regrettable to discontinue a convenient payment option for our customers on this ticket, it is currently a necessary step to address significant fraud concerns. We will actively monitor the situation, and our customers still have alternative methods to enable them to continue to buy a Manchester 7 Day MegaRider, either on board with cash or in advance through the Stagecoach Bus App or from our website.”
