Stagecoach Manchester and its employees are crowned winners at the 2023 UK Bus Awards, receiving awards across three categories.
The accolades, which champion outstanding service and achievement within the bus industry, were established 26 years ago and have since recognised more than 450 top award winners throughout the UK.
This year, Stagecoach Manchester and its employees were triumphant in three categories:
- Richard Greaves, Operations Manager at Hyde Road Depot: Young Manager of the Year Gold Award
- Middleton Depot: Top National Bus Depot Gold Award
- Mark Mageean, Commercial Manager: Manager of the Year Bronze Award
Richard Greaves won gold in the Young Manager of The Year category. After joining Stagecoach’s graduate scheme in 2019, Richard has rapidly ascended the ranks, gaining invaluable experience in various roles across the UK. His most recent appointment saw him join as Operations Manager at Hyde Road Depot in Manchester, one of the country's largest bus depots. Richard has responsibility for 500 employees and nearly 200 vehicles.
Stagecoach Manchester’s Middleton’s depot was also recognised as the Top National Bus Depot. Since Stagecoach took over the operations at Middleton ten years ago, the 129-strong team have been dedicated to customer service and providing the best travel experience for their customers.
Finally, Commercial Manager, Mark Mageean was presented with the bronze award in the Manager of The Year category. Mark is dedicated to coaching and mentoring his team. His operational background and eagerness to learn have led him to take on additional responsibilities and he played an integral role in both franchising and the successful delivery of transport services at this year’s Parklife Festival.
Rob Jones, Managing Director of Stagecoach Manchester said: “I am incredibly proud of the team’s success at this year’s UK Bus Awards. The recognition is a true testament to their hard work and commitment to supporting our local communities and delivering excellent customer service to people travelling across Greater Manchester. I’m thrilled to be celebrating with them today.”
