Stagecoach woo's customers with special Valentine's giveaway

Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire is sharing the love this Valentine’s Day by giving away tens of thousands of tickets across its X8 route.

To celebrate the season of love, the company is encouraging peopleacross Chester and Ellesmere Port to take a single bus journey this February by dropping off over 40,000 free single tickets to households.

The X8 route runs from Chester city centre to Liverpool city centre. Limited stops at Cheshire Oaks, Ellesmere Port, Bromborough and Port Sunlight mean passengers can get quickly and easily between the popular hubs of Liverpool and Chester.

Elisabeth Tasker, managing director for Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire, said: “Our special Valentine’s Day promotion is designed to woo new customers, but also show our existing customers how special they are to us, by offering them a free journey!

“The X8 route enables people to easily and quickly reach Chester or Liverpool city centre. The route also covers Cheshire Oaks and Liverpool ONE, making it the perfect journey for people to get out and about and explore the best of the North West. After all, you never know who you might meet on the bus!”

Stagecoach has launched a new, interactive website for people who are beginning their love affair with bus travel to make the process of travelling by bus even easier.

The new website enables people to plan their journeys, create personalised timetables, receive service updates, buy tickets online and easily save their favourite journeys to their accounts. Monthly megarider Xtra tickets, valid on the X8 are now available online from £32.

Over 42 million passenger journeys were completed on Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire buses last year. The company is one of the UK’s most sustainable bus operators and has reduced carbon emissions by 30 per cent in the last five years. All Stagecoach vehicles are fitted with eco-driving systems which lower emissions and the company has shown the biggest commitment to using 100 per cent biofuel of any UK bus operator.
