Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire has announced that it will be taking over two routes formerly operated by GHA Coaches following the North Wales bus firm’s collapse last week.
The company will now operate the 6 and 36 services to ensure people are able to continue to rely on a local bus service.
The 6 circular service covers Ellesmere Port Bus Station, West Cheshire College, Great Sutton, West Cheshire College, Ellesmere Port Bus Station, Stanney Grange Alnwick Rd, Wolverham Cheshire Cat, and Ellesmere Port Bus Station.
The 36 service runs from Ellesmere Port Bus Station, Cheshire Oaks, Elton Village shops, Helsby Tesco, Helsby High School, Frodsham Bears Paw, and Runcorn Shopping City South - Runcorn Shopping Centre North.
Elisabeth Tasker, managing director of Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire, said: “Following the collapse of GHA Coaches last week, Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire will be picking up two of the routes the company formerly serviced. This is a key area for bus users and we will be doing all we can to ensure minimum disruption to passengers.”
Stagecoach will also be extending its Merseyside plus+ zone to include Runcorn with Stagecoach adult weekly tickets available for just £13.50 U19's £6.80.
