We’re excited to announce we’ve launched our new app which we’re confident will save passengers time by providing mobile ticketing, better information and live bus tracking.
The Stagecoach Bus App can be downloaded free of charge for Apple and Android mobile phones from the App Store and Google Play respectively. Payments on the app can be made by PayPal, via debit or credit card or with Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Through the app, we’re now able to offer mobile ticketing on our local bus services for the first time, allowing our customers to instantly buy and download tickets straight to their smartphone.
Mobile ticketing, offering dayrider tickets, is currently available for our customers in the Greater Manchester area and this feature will be rolled out to all of our regional companies in the coming months.
Our app offers a simple journey planner which uses interactive maps and the smartphone GPS system to help customers find their nearest bus stop and the most suitable bus service for their journey. The app also provides information on journey length and fare options, and passengers can track their bus in live time, allowing them to check the status of their journey to make the most of their time before leaving for the bus stop.
In addition, the app allows users to pinpoint their location during their journey, helping them figure out where they are on the route, how far they are from their destination and when to get off the bus. This will be a very useful feature for those who aren’t regular bus users or people who may be visiting a new location and are unsure of the route the bus will take.
The app, along with the website we launched late last year, is part of a major investment in our digital strategy which is transforming the journey experience for our customers.
