Coronavirus Update Close

National lockdown restrictions are in place across England. Until 2 December, you should only travel for work, education or other permitted reasons. From 2 December England will be returning to a 3 Tier System. Find out more about local restrictions.

A tiered system of protection levels is in operation across Scotland. So, if you need to travel, make sure you're up-to-date with what's happening in your area by checking the local government guidance.

We've put in place measures to allow you to travel safely including limiting available seats on buses and enhanced cleaning. Unless you’re exempt, you must wear a face covering throughout your journey. Please avoid busy times, use contactless payment where you can, keep your distance and take your litter with you. On the road to the Special Olympics

20 Jul 2018

We’re delighted to be a key sponsor of the Special Olympics GB’s 40th Anniversary Games, taking place in Stirling in August this year.

Hosted by Special Olympics Scotland, the event celebrates 40 years of competition and training for athletes with intellectual (learning) disabilities in England, Scotland and Wales.

All transport for the athletes at the Games will be provided by Stagecoach and over 1,400 Special Olympics athletes are expected to compete in front of over 4,000 spectators from the UK and across the World.

The event will also pay tribute to 50 years of the Special Olympics global movement – founded in 1968 in the USA by Eunice Kennedy Shriver – sister of President John F Kennedy.

Competitors range across age groups and compete in ten sports, including boccia, badminton, indoor bowls, cycling, football and athletics.

The games will include an Olympic style opening ceremony which will celebrate the culture of Special Olympics GB and also the Games host country of Scotland, with a great line up of entertainment.

Tickets are now on sale on the website here.
