Kids travel for 10p on Teesside this Christmas

14 Dec 2015

Families on Teesside can enjoy a cheaper day out around the region this Christmas as Stagecoach North East has brought back its popular bus travel for 10p for the under-16s.

To take advantage of last minute shopping in Stockton, see a festive film in Middlesbrough or visit family and friends in Hartlepool, the local bus operator is helping to keep the young ones happy with the chance for affordable travel from 19 December until 3 January.

Passengers aged under 16 can travel for just ten pence when they board with a full paying adult, and under five year olds can travel for free. By simply purchasing a daytripper or dayrider plus, or showing a valid megarider, adults can take up to two under 16-year olds along for the ride for just 20p. All tickets are available from the driver onboard Stagecoach North East services on Teesside.

Nathan Stanislawski, Operations Manager at Stagecoach North East’s Teesside depot in Stockton, said: “To help keep the children entertained during the school holidays, we have brought on board this great offer again. There are so many things to see and do over the festive season, with movies, shopping, sports and leisure activities on our doorstep, and this great value ticket means families can have an affordable day out over Christmas and New Year without the hassle of driving or parking.”

A 7-day megarider adult ticket is available onboard for £12.10 and allows unlimited travel on all Stagecoach buses throughout Teesside. The daytripper ticket is £4.45 per adult which enables travel on both Stagecoach and Arriva services within the boroughs of Stockton and Middlesbrough. The dayrider plus ticket is £5.10 for an adult and brings unlimited travel on all Stagecoach buses throughout Teesside and Hartlepool.
