Coronavirus Update Close

Following government announcements on the roadmap out of lockdown and plans to gradually restore greater normality to everyday lives, we're making plans to get more services back on the road, including school services from 8th March. Have a spooktacular half term with 10p travel for under 16s in Teesside and Hartlepool

27 Oct 2016

After listening to feedback from passengers, who requested an extension to the 10p promotion usually offered over the summer, affordable travel for scary Halloween shopping trips, pumpkin-carving or haunted walks is now on offer.

For families planning a visit to the Central Library in Middlesbrough for creepy crafts, exploring the shops for ghoulish costumes, a visit to SpooQuay at the National Museum for the Royal Navy in Hartlepool, or enjoying an autumn walk in Stewart’s Park, Stagecoach North East is offering those aged 16 and under the opportunity to travel all day for just ten pence when they board with a full paying adult.

By simply purchasing a daytripper or dayrider plus, or showing a valid megarider, from 22 October until 30 October, adults can take up to two under 16-year olds along for the ride for just ten pence each. Moreover, up to four children under five are able to travel with an adult absolutely free. All tickets are available from the driver onboard Stagecoach North East services in Teesside and Hartlepool.

Nathan Stanislawski, Operations Manager at Stagecoach North East’s Teesside depot commented: “With many Halloween-themed activities and events on over the half term for everyone to enjoy, Teesside is a great area and offers families countless opportunities to have enjoyable days out.”

“There is so much to see and do whatever the autumn weather, with shopping and sightseeing alongside coast and countryside all on our doorstep, so hop on board to help keep the children entertained.”

The daytripper ticket is £4.50 which allows travel on both Stagecoach and Arriva services within the boroughs of Stockton and Middlesbrough. The dayrider ticket is valid on all Stagecoach buses in Hartlepool for £3.45. The dayrider plus ticket is £5.15 and allows unlimited travel on all Stagecoach buses throughout Teesside and Hartlepool.

The 7-day Teesside megarider ticket is available on board for £12.25 and online for £11.90 and allows unlimited travel on all Stagecoach buses throughout Teesside. The 7-day Hartlepool megarider ticket is available onboard for £10.70 and online for £10.40 and allows unlimited travel on all Stagecoach buses throughout Hartlepool.
