New look for City Sightseeing bus summer schedule starts

25 Apr 2017

Stagecoach’s City Sightseeing Bus has unveiled a new look for the summer and is now on the road for visitors to Newcastle and Gateshead with the launch of the summer programme.

As the warmer weather approaches, it’s great time to start enjoying all the vibrant sights and sounds that Newcastle and Gateshead have to offer.

With its brand new livery for the 2017 summer season, the City Sightseeing bus offers tours of the city and all its attractions - from the Newcastle Castle, Centre for Life and Baltic arts venue, to shopping, eating and drinking - and customers can take a full tour or hop on and hop off at 17 stops, all valid for 24 hours.

Passengers can learn more about the history of their city from the onboard commentary or to simply admire the fantastic views that visitors flock to see every year, including the famous Tyne Bridge.

Bus passengers can purchase a ticket for the City Sightseeing bus from the driver for £8, with tickets for children aged 5 to 15 only £4. Stagecoach tickets holders can also get £1 off an adult ticket and 50p for children. Journeys run every Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday until Saturday 26 October 2017, and every day from Sunday 2 July until Saturday 16 September, beginning at 10.30am and running at least every hour until 2.30pm.

Mark Middleton, Marketing Manager for Stagecoach North East, said: “The Newcastle and Gateshead City Sightseeing bus is a popular tourist attraction and we’re delighted to announce the return of the service for the season with a brand new livery.

“Both Newcastle and Gateshead have a fantastic array of sights to see and attractions to experience, and our customers can benefit with the offer of a cheaper ticket. It makes a great day out and is a perfect way to show visiting friends and family what makes this city so special.”
