Bargain bus fares for youngsters this summer

08 Aug 2017

Youngsters across Teesside and Hartlepool can once again hop aboard the bus with their parents this summer and travel all day for just ten pence thanks to local bus operator, Stagecoach North East.

The popular bargain bus fares are available on Stagecoach buses across the Tees Valley region for young people aged 16 and under, so it means affordable travel for all the family to help make the most of the long summer break.

With the holidays now well underway, whether you’re planning a visit to the Hartlepool Headland, visiting friends for a coffee in Norton or exploring the shops and parks in Middlesbrough, Stagecoach North East is giving families the chance to enjoy all the events and activities on offer throughout the Tees Valley this summer, at a great price.

The ten pence travel offer is valid until Sunday 3 September and by simply purchasing a *daytripper, dayrider or dayrider plus, or showing a valid Dayrider, Daytripper or Megarider ticket, adults can take up to two under 16-year olds along for the ride for just ten pence each and ride all day. Additionally, up to four children under five are able to travel with an adult absolutely free.

Nathan Stanislawski, Operations Manager at Stagecoach North East’s Teesside depot, said: “Tees Valley offers families countless opportunities to have enjoyable days out, and we hope this excellent value ticket extends the family fun during the holidays, come rain or shine. At Stagecoach North East, we’re always looking for new ways to benefit the community and improve our passengers’ travel experience.”

Jason Astley, Operations Manager at Stagecoach North East’s Hartlepool depot added: “To help keep the children entertained during the school holidays, we have brought on board this great offer again. There are so many things to see and do, with movies, shopping, sports and leisure activities on our doorstep, and this great value ticket means families can have an affordable day out over the summer without the hassle of driving or parking.”

The 7-day megarider ticket is available onboard for £12.50 on Teesside and £11.50 in Hartlepool, and allows unlimited travel on all Stagecoach buses throughout the area. The weekly megarider Plus ticket is £15.50 for unlimited travel across Hartlepool and Teesside. The Teesside *daytripper ticket is £4.50 which allows travel on Stagecoach services within the boroughs of Stockton and Middlesbrough, with the Hartlepool dayrider costing £3.60.
