Treat the family with ten pence travel this Christmas

22 Dec 2017

Families in Hartlepool and Teesside can enjoy a cheaper day out around the region this Christmas as Stagecoach North East has brought back its popular bus travel for 10p for the under-16s.

To take advantage of last minute shopping in at Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, enjoy a festive film at Cineworld Middlesbrough or go ice-skating at Billingham Forum, the local bus operator is helping to keep the young ones happy with the chance for affordable travel from 23 December until 7 January.

Children aged under 16 can travel for just ten pence when they board with a full paying adult, and up to four under five year olds can travel for free. By simply purchasing a daytripper, dayrider or dayrider plus, or showing a valid megarider or megarider plus, adults can take up to two under 16-year olds along for the ride for just 10p each. All tickets are available from the driver onboard local Stagecoach North East services.

Nathan Stanislawski, Operations Manager at Stagecoach North East’s Teesside depot, said: “To help keep the children entertained during the school holidays, we have once again brought back this great offer. There are so many things to see and do over the festive season, with movies, shopping, sports and leisure activities on our doorstep, and this great value ticket means families can have an affordable day out over Christmas and New Year without the hassle of driving or parking.”

Hartlepool and Teesside and 7-day megarider tickets are available onboard for £11.50 and £12.50 respectively, allowing unlimited travel on all Stagecoach buses in each area. The dayrider ticket is valid on all Stagecoach buses in Hartlepool for £3.60, with the Teesside daytripper ticket £4.50. The dayrider plus ticket is £5.30 for an adult and allows unlimited travel on all Stagecoach buses throughout Teesside and Hartlepool.
