Stagecoach reminded customers that its route 58 bus in Newtown, Stockton-on-Tees is now back in service following the opening of Londonderry Bridge.
The bridge was closed due to urgent replacement works by Stockton Borough Council and services 58 and 58A have now resumed their normal route on Durham Road after a six-month diversion.
To celebrate the opening of Londonderry Bridge on Durham Road, which was unveiled earlier this month, Stagecoach North East offered its passengers a free bus trip and the chance to win a Fire HD8 tablet.
The bus company gave out vouchers to its customers which will entitle them to a free ride on its buses along the 58 and 58A routes, and they were also entered into a competition prize draw with the chance to win a Fire tablet worth £109.99.
In addition, customers can now purchase a brand new Teesside dayrider ticket using their mobile, following the recent launch of the Stagecoach North East app with smart ticket technology and live bus journey tracking.
The dayrider ticket can be used throughout Middlesbrough, Stockton and Billingham for only £4.50. For more information, visit www.stagecoachbus.com/app.
Nathan Stanislawski, Stagecoach North East’s operations manager at the Teesside depot in Stockton, said: “We are delighted that the Londonderry Bridge is now open and that our passengers can resume their normal route across Stockton, which is why we are thanking our customers for their support and patience with an opportunity to win a great prize just in time for Christmas!
“We are committed to improving service delivery and purchasing a ticket has become easier than ever. Customers can now benefit from a wide range of technology and tools to help make planning their journey as simple of possible.”
