National lockdown restrictions are in place across England until 2 December but bus services are running as normal. You should only travel for work, education or other permitted reasons. 

In South Wales, all of our timetables will go back to what we were running before the 'firebreak' lockdown. There will also be some timetable changes to a number of Aberdare services to improve connectivity. 

The new tier system is in operation across Scotland, but if you need to travel, make sure you're up-to-date with what's happening in your area by checking the local government guidance.

We've put in place measures to allow you to travel safely including limiting available seats on buses and enhanced cleaning. Unless you’re exempt, you must wear a face covering throughout your journey. Please avoid busy times, use contactless payment where you can, keep your distance and take your litter with you. Stagecoach bus passengers invited to say thanks and nominate their customer service champions

Local bus operator Stagecoach North East has launched its 2017 Champions Awards for employees – and is inviting bus passengers across the North East to nominate their favourite member of staff for the Customer Service Champions Award, with a chance to win a cash prize of up to £500.

Now in its eighth year, the company’s Group-wide Champions Awards recognises staff achievements in a number of categories including safety, environment, health, innovation, community and customer service. 

Stagecoach North East is calling on the help of bus customers to nominate their favourite employee, which could be a driver, customer service assistant, inspector or any other member of the Stagecoach team. 

The Stagecoach Group Champions Awards recognises team members who go the extra mile, make the journey extra special or deserve a simple thank you. All employees nominated will be in with a chance of winning a gold, silver or bronze champions award along with a cash prize. 

In addition, customers who nominate a winning employee will also receive a cash prize*. The customer who nominates a gold award-winning employee will receive £500, a silver award-winning employee will receive £250 and a bronze award-winning employee will receive £125.

Managing Director of Stagecoach North East, Steve Walker, said: “We know many of our staff have a great relationship with our customers and the job they do is appreciated by the local community. This is a chance for our customers to help local staff gain recognition at a national level as well as potentially winning a prize themselves. 

“We hope people will take the time to nominate their favourite Stagecoach employees.”

Customers who wish to nominate an employee should visit www.stagecoachbus.com or email [email protected] to give details of the staff member and an explanation of why they believe the employee deserves to win an award. The deadline for nominations is midnight on Friday 26 May 2017.

The awards are open to employees across Stagecoach’s bus and rail operations in the UK and around 150 staff members have been honoured for their outstanding efforts over the past seven years.



*Please note – in cases where more than one customer has nominated a winning employee, the prize will go to the customer who emailed their nomination first. If the nomination is made by a group of people, one cash prize will be awarded to the group, not to each individual within the group. Employees or family members of staff who work for any Stagecoach company are not eligible for these cash prizes.
