Festive ten pence travel treat for under 16s this Christmas

Families across Teesside and Hartlepool can enjoy cheaper days out around the region during the Christmas holidays as Stagecoach North East brings back its popular 10p travel offer for under 16s.

For families wanting to enjoy some last-minute shopping at Teesside Park or planning to see a festive film at Vue cinema in Hartlepool, Stagecoach North East is offering those aged 16 and under the opportunity to travel all day for just ten pence when they board with a full paying adult. 

By simply purchasing a Teesside daytripper, a Hartlepool dayrider, a Teesside/Hartlepool dayrider PLUS, Teesside or Hartlepool megarider or megarider PLUS from Saturday 21 December to Sunday 5 January, adults can take up to two under 16-year olds along for the ride for just ten pence each. Moreover, under fives travel absolutely free. All tickets are available from the driver onboard Stagecoach North East services in Teesside and Hartlepool. 

From ice-skating at Billingham Forum Ice Arena, getting some fresh air at Saltholme Wildlife Reserve and Discovery Park or burning off some energy at Stockton’s Hollywood Bowl, there are plenty of places to visit around the region to keep the family entertained this festive season.

Martin Musther, Operations Manager at Stagecoach North East's Teesside depot, said: "We have brought back this great offer to help keep the children entertained during the school holidays. There are so many things to see and do over the festive season, with movies, shopping, sports and leisure activities on our doorstep, and this great value ticket means families can have an affordable day out over Christmas and New Year without the hassle of driving or parking.”

The daytripper ticket is £4.60 which allows travel on both Stagecoach and Arriva services within the boroughs of Stockton and Middlesbrough. The dayrider ticket is valid on all Stagecoach buses in Hartlepool for £3.80. The dayrider plus ticket is £5.70 and allows unlimited travel on all Stagecoach buses throughout Teesside and Hartlepool.

The 7-day Teesside megarider ticket is available for £13.50 and allows unlimited travel on all Stagecoach buses throughout Teesside. The 7-day Hartlepool megarider ticket is available for £12.50 and the £17.00 megarider plus ticket allows unlimited travel on all Stagecoach buses throughout Teesside and Hartlepool.
