Local bus operator Stagecoach North East has announced the extension of its route 10 and 11 bus service in South Tyneside from Monday 28 October 2019, which will provide new links from South Shields to Cobalt Business Park in North Tyneside.

The key commuter route has been extended to further improve links between South Shields and employment areas. Customers can now connect from across South Shields and Jarrow with the premier business park every 30 minutes during morning and afternoon periods, Monday to Friday.

In addition, Services 10 and 11 will also serve Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate and Silverlink along the route. Although there will be some minor changes to times, buses will continue to run up to every 30 minutes between South Shields and Jarrow during the day.

Steve Walker, Managing Director, Stagecoach North East, said: “This extension to Cobalt Business Park represents further investment for the company and we have had tremendous support from Cobalt in the development of the new service.

“Cobalt is the UK’s largest office park, and with such a successful commercial development in the region, we are delighted to be able to offer this service and bring our customers closer to home, work and leisure activities.

“As traffic and congestion continue to prove challenging on our region’s roads, we are providing an alternative method of travel for commuters, with less stress and a chance to catch up on work or relax as they head into the office. I am sure this will prove a popular service, as well as offering a viable option to parking for the many businesses and thousands of staff at Cobalt.”
