Students get on board for less with cheaper bus travel

As the new term starts, Stagecoach is on hand to help students across the north east save their pennies with its popular unirider ticket.

Teens on bus
The unirider ticket allows students to travel on all Stagecoach North East buses anywhere in the region, including Newcastle, Sunderland, South Shields, Teesside and Hartlepool, from just 92p per day.

The discounted ticket is perfect for students wishing to make the most of their social and academic life, providing a cheap and safe travel option for visiting the library and going to lectures, or exploring the many attractions the region has to offer.

Annual unirider tickets, which are available online for just £280, are loaded onto a StagecoachSmart student card and must be presented alongside a student ID when boarding the bus.

Steve Walker, Managing Director, Stagecoach North East, said: “This is an exciting time for new students, as they take their first step into independence, especially if they have left home and are living in a new town or city.

"With income limited for students and travel forming an essential part of college and university life, unirider tickets can offer peace of mind for students and parents alike, as they provide unlimited travel all year round. With unirider tickets available for each term or the full year, getting to lectures on time, shopping and making the most of all the region has to offer is cheaper and more convenient with Stagecoach."

Offering great value, annual tickets are valid from now until 30th June 2020, giving 304 days of affordable bus travel across the region. Term tickets are also available throughout the academic year at the online price of £122.

There's even a summer version costing £77, for those students who stay in the North East for the summer break.
