Coronavirus Update Close

In line with the latest government guidance, we've put in place further measures in England to help customers practice social distancing. This includes limiting the available seats on buses.

Face coverings are compulsory when using public transport in England and Scotland. In Wales it is compulsory to wear a three layer face covering on public transport. It is also now compulsory to wear face coverings when using indoor public transport hubs in England only.

· Westlink road works road closure to cause major disruption to bus services

Bus passengers in Inverness have been advised to expect disruption from Monday 24th October at 1900 until Tuesday morning at 0600. 

Stagecoach is warning passengers to allow extra time for their journeys by bus from 1900 on Monday 24th October when a road closure for the completion of Westlink work will be carried out. The road works within the city will cause services to be unable to serve Mile End and Glenurquhart Road during the closure .

Notice of the road closure was received by the major bus operator on Thursday 20th October. 

Graeme Leslie, Operations Director for Stagecoach North Scotland said: "We would like to reassure customers we are doing everything possible to keep your bus running to time. We have stressed our concerns and the impact it will have on our customer base within Inverness however regrettably there will be disruption to passengers in Mile End and Glenurquhart Road. 

We would like to thank our passengers for their patience at this time and apologise for any inconvenience caused."

An update is expected on Tuesday 25th October with details of further closures planned to take place. 

Stagecoach requested that this closure could be delayed by one week to allow time to better notify passengers however this request was refused.

Bus passengers are urged to check which will be updated with the information as soon as it is released.
