Stagecoach today released details of bus services over the Christmas and New Year period.
Between 24th December and 2nd January bus services will operate to special timetables. On Christmas Eve, services will end earlier than normal with last departures being approximately 2000. There will be no services operating on Christmas Day. However, special timetables will be in operation on Boxing Day throughout Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Inverness and the Highlands - handy for all those heading out and planning to pick up a bargain at the sales. On New Year's Eve services will once again end early with last departures at approximately 2000. On New Years Day, Stagecoach will for the first time be operating the 727 Service from Aberdeen City Centre to Aberdeen International Airport.
Services return to normal school holiday operation from Wednesday 3rd January 2018.
Mark Whitelocks, Managing Director for Stagecoach North Scotland said: "We are delighted to be running more bus services during the festive period than we have in previous years. We hope this will encourage more people to choose the bus for a trip to the sales, to visit friends, family and loved ones during the festive season or indeed to get to and from work. We would also like to wish our customers a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2018."
Jemma Forrest, Travel Services Manager at Aberdeen International Airport said: "We are thrilled that Stagecoach are providing a service to passengers arriving into Aberdeen on 26th December and 1st January as this is something our passengers have given us feedback on in previous years. Having an easy direct connection into the city centre for those arriving into Aberdeen or leaving the city after celebrations with friends and family over the festive period is key for passengers choosing to travel into and out of Aberdeen at this time of year."
