Coronavirus Update Close

In line with the latest government guidance, we've put in place further measures in England to help customers practice social distancing. This includes limiting the available seats on buses.

Face coverings are compulsory when using public transport in England and Scotland. In Wales you must wear a 3 layer face covering on public transport and put it on before travelling unless you are exempt. It is also now compulsory to wear face coverings when using indoor public transport hubs in England only.

The safety of our customers and employees is our priority, so please avoid busy times, use contactless payment and take your litter with you. For up to date information see our Coronavirus page

The bowls on the green go round and round

19 Jun 2018

Local bus operator, Stagecoach, today announced sponsorship for an Aberdeenshire bowling club.

Macduff Bowling Club has secured a sponsorship deal from local bus operator Stagecoach North Scotland. The sponsorship deal has allowed the club to purchase 40 kits for the team of local bowlers.

Iain Christie, Stagecoach employee for over 18 years and Macduff Bowling Club President said: "I am truly grateful for the generosity of the company in supporting its employees not only within work but within the local community. Members of the bowling club are very excited about the new kits which have given the players a real sense of belonging and ownership as they move forward with forthcoming competitions. Not only do we feel like a team, we now also look like one!"

Macduff Bowling Club which was originally founded over a century ago in 1905 now has over 60 bowling members and over 200 social members. The club has grown to become a big part of the local community, bringing residents together and offering a social and friendly environment for all.

The sponsorship has provided vital support for the club and has allowed the club to purchase more than 40 kits. The team proudly wore the new kits in the Top Ten Finals held in Ayr earlier this year. The club previously started the year off with a win in Forres in the initial rounds of the Top Ten Tournament.

Mark Whitelocks, Managing Director for Stagecoach North Scotland said: "I am delighted to present the kits to the team at Macduff Bowling Club, we are proud to support the club and its members over the next few years. We hope the team continue their success this year in the tournament and continue to do us proud."

Macduff Bowling Club are now preparing for their next competition which will be held in Lossiemouth in July.

A fleet of 25 buses are based at the Stagecoach Macduff depot operating on local bus routes around Aberdeenshire.
