Local bus company Stagecoach continued its support for Pilgrims Hospices as two teams of employees raised over £1,200 for the charity, rising to the challenge of the ‘It’s a Knockout’ event on Sunday 31st May.
The 20 employees from Stagecoach’s Dover depot, including bus drivers, administrators and engineers, took part in an action packed day at Government Acre, Ramsgate which involved teams participating in several activities including obstacle courses and agility challenges, all involving a lot of water!
Karen Griffiths, Administrator at Dover depot said: “Taking part in the It’s a Knockout challenge was a fun way to raise money for the hospice. The teams laughed their way around the course, which made the cold, wet and windy day far more enjoyable. Everyone involved had known someone who needed the help of the hospice so we were all delighted to be part of this great event.”
Stagecoach has supported Pilgrims Hospices since 2013, raising over £10,000 for the charity. Several employees also participated in the Pilgrims Hospices Cycle Challenge on 3rd May, with the company sponsoring the event.
Karen Kenward, Pilgrims Hospices Regional Fundraising Manager added: “I would like to thank Stagecoach for their wonderful support to our It’s a Knockout event and their continued support through raising awareness with our Sponsor a Nurse campaign that Stagecoach kindly agreed to have displayed on one of their buses. From patients and staff we thank you all so very much.”
