Stagecoach has announced plans to halve its Young Person’s Travel Pass add-on ticket for the new academic year.
The Stagecoach ‘PLUS’ ticket was launched last year after the restrictions of KCC’s new Young Person’s Travel pass were announced. PLUS tickets are valid after 7pm on weekdays, all day at weekends, and throughout the month of August – the times at which the council pass is not valid, thus providing an unlimited travel option.
Last year, PLUS tickets cost £50 for the year but have now been cut to £25 if they are purchased before 1 November 2015.
Philip Norwell, Managing Director of Stagecoach in East Kent said: “Our PLUS tickets were introduced to complement the KCC passes to make sure parents still have the option of purchasing an unlimited travel pass.
“By halving the price to just £25 for the year, which includes the entire month of August, we hope that even more parents take advantage of this ticket so young people are able to enjoy the benefits of our comprehensive bus network and go out and make social and leisure journeys independently.”
PLUS tickets are available to buy online at stagecoachbus.com/eastkent. Once purchased, the tickets will be available to collect from schools at the start of term along with council issued passes. There is also a PLUS add-on ticket available for those who are entitled to a free travel to school pass from the council.
