Santa bus is coming to town

13 Dec 2016

  • Special Santa bus will appear around town on routes 1/1A
  • Santa (aka local bus driver Brian Newton) will be giving away goodies on the bus and raising money for local charity Children with Cancer Fund

Santa will be swapping his sleigh and driving a special Santa Christmas bus around town next week. The bus, which features a smiling Santa face motif, will be driven by Santa himself on the 1/1A route. Stagecoach bus driver, Brian Newton (aka Santa) will be collecting money for local charity Children with Cancer Fund. He’ll also be distributing goodwill and goodies to anyone that boards his bus.
Santa Drives Bus
Brian, who’s worked for Stagecoach in Eastbourne for the last three years, said “As a bus driver I’ve got a great opportunity to help raise funds for charity because I get to meet people all day long.”

Last year Brain helped raise over £400 for Eastbourne based charity Epilepsy Lifestyle. This year, with the aid of a special Santa bus, Brian hopes that his passengers will give their generous support to Children with Cancer Fund. He said “I wanted to help a local charity for children who have been diagnosed with cancer.”

Children with Cancer Fund is a Polegate based charity made up of a small group of volunteers. Their aim is to grant wishes to children and their families, who have, or have had, cancer and who primarily live in East Sussex.

Santa will be behind the wheel of his special route 1/1A bus from Monday 19 December until Christmas Eve.
